How to Utilise Kanban Board Effectively?

This article explains all the functionalities associated with the kanban board and how to use it in the TurboHire platform.

Kanban is a popular framework used for workflow visualization, designed to help you bring clarity to your recruitment process and enhance efficiency by limiting work in progress. With this new level of transparency, you will quickly identify problematic work stages, and by improving those, your team will soon work more efficiently. 


Create different stages associated with the job and manage candidates efficiently and effectively in each stage. You can simply move candidates from one stage to another by simply using the drag and drop feature, sorting and filtering candidates, creating a view tab based on the requirement, etc.

Here are the highlights of the Kanban Board:

Team up: Collaborate with your team members on specific jobs by clicking on the + button present at the top of the kanban board. All the initials represent the team members associated with that specific job.

Candidate Calibration: Find the candidates for your job by defining the criteria to calculate the Calibration score of the candidate by clicking on the Candidate Calibration button at the top of the kanban board. Learn How to Calibrate Job to Define an Ideal Candidate?

Retargeting: Reach out to the individuals who are currently not looking for jobs and opportunities and engage with them by communicating the opportunities available for them.

Share Job: Share job with internal and external stakeholders using the Share dropdown button. Following actions can be performed:

  • Share - Generate a link and share it in your network.
  • Setup Email - Create a customised email associated with a particular job only and get all resumes directly linked with the job. 
  • Promote - Promote jobs on different job boards including the company’s page.
  • Add Partner - Share jobs with the recruitment partner to increase the outreach.
  • Reassign Job - Reassign the job to the new owner and assign the permissions as per the requirement.
  • Edit Job - Edit the job as per the requirement.

Add Candidates: Add candidates directly to the job by clicking on the Add Candidates dropdown button at the top right of the kanban board. You can add them in the following ways:

  • Add Manually
  • Upload Resumes
  • Import from Excel

Sort By & Filters: You can organise and refine the list of candidates in an easy and efficient manner by using a rich set of filters and sort by options in TurboHire. You can find Sort By feature and set of Primary Filters right next to the search bar. To their right, find and click on More Filters to open the filter panel from the right. This panel contains an exhaustive set of filters including skill, refine, experience, and many more filters.

Candidate Smart Cards: Smart Cards are Linkedin-like candidate profiles that only contain vital candidate information so that you do not have to go through the whole resume. It contains basic information about the Candidate’s Job Title and Company. It also shows information like Calibration Score, Education, Experience, Skillset, etc. You can also perform some quick actions like Move to Next Stage, Download Resume, Send Email to name a few by clicking on the Kebab menu.
